This book series can be considered historical (era) fiction, based primarily in the 1980s life and times of characters living in a small town in southern Louisiana. Although this is a fictional series, many elements of the story are based on real life events that happened in Houma, Louisiana during that time. The Human Dinosaurs story centers around a violent period of war broken out involving three rival groups that threaten to tear the town apart, touching on many teen life experiences - finding(and losing) a sense of morality, peer pressure, loyalty, first love, and the dangers of gang mentality.
